A plain white background,
This is the clouds,
Waiting to be formed by
Blue and grey ornaments of colour.
It’s duller than I’d like
But that’s ok,
It will be brighter, soon.
The lightest shades first,
The furthest things away,
Find peace in the horizon,
There’s better things to stay.
I’ll take my time,
You can’t rush these things,
Like a cut that stings when it first touches water,
But eventually, it feels alright.
These rough streaks, of green and brown
will be trees and plants,
Forefront bound,
Near the sun, where they’ll catch the light.
I’m taking my time,
No make shift or make do,
I’m painting a picture,
And the picture is for you.
And when it’s finished I hope it makes you smile,
A dash of yellow for your blue,
My sun reflecting off your moon,
A careful contemplation of what makes life worthwhile,
In a world of coloured water, entirely new.
I’m painting a picture, And this picture is for you.
