Written and recorded from January – March '22, this piece is a deeply personal reflection on the way many people view autism vs the lived experience of it.
While this piece can feel dated, to me, by the skills that I've gained since, the raw emotion of the original recording is invaluable to me. It will always have a special place in my heart.
This piece followed shortly after Different Not Less.
I wrote it about how seasons are experienced in a city, in particular, Spring.
I used reversed cello sounds and melodies to create the backdrop to the words, even sampling my own voice in reverse to create the bird tweeting sound.
Venturing into the world of the symphony orchestra, I wrote this piece inspired by one of my favourite childhood stories, 'The Owl and the Pussycat' by Edward Lear.
